In today’s world, technology is everywhere. It’s shaping how we communicate, learn, work, and even how we solve everyday problems. As parents, one of the greatest gifts you can give your children is the chance to learn essential computer skills, skills they will need to thrive in this digital age. Since 2019, African Soul Initiative has been running its Computer Training Program for the Youth, designed to equip young people with foundational IT skills during their school holidays.

In the spirit of growth and adaptability, the African Soul Initiative has undergone significant changes in its approach to program visibility on our website. Following a strategic decision made during the executive committee meeting on December 16th, 2023, we have revised our content-sharing strategy to focus on current programs featured in the annual year work plan. This shift aims to streamline the user experience, ensuring that our audience is well-informed about the ongoing initiatives while maintaining the continuity of the previous programs operating in the background.

The journey of education is inherently challenging, but for orphaned children, the path is uniquely treacherous. As Uganda anticipates the 2023 exam results, it is essential to shed light on the financial obstacles faced by orphaned children in their pursuit of knowledge. This blog explores the intricate web of economic constraints shaping their educational choices and the resilience required to navigate this challenging journey.

In Uganda, orphaned children face numerous challenges accessing education, with limited opportunities for ICT-based learning. Currently, these children attend different schools and can only access computer training during holiday periods. While this presents a valuable opportunity, the limited time frame impedes the depth of impact we aim to achieve in empowering these young minds for a brighter future.

At African Soul Initiative, our commitment to community development drives our mission to empower the youth of Nansana municipality. Through our ICT Training Program, we've witnessed incredible transformations and empowered countless young minds with essential skills for the digital age.

In Uganda many get orphaned at a tender age due to diseases such as HIV/AIDs, wars and brutality plus a lot more. Many children are left to fend for themselves and others burdened with the role of parenthood for the siblings. In such a situation, many opt for illegal ways to survive which sends many to prisons, addictions and more unpleasant places.

The project will establish vocational training centers strategically located within Buikwe district. These centers will provide vital entrepreneurial and vocational skills, offering teenage mothers an opportunity to learn and earn. The power of education will not be forgotten, as scholarships will be offered to girls with dreams of continuing their studies and achieving their career aspirations.

In today's fast-paced digital world, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a pivotal role in shaping societies and driving progress. At African Soul Initiative (ASI), we recognize the transformative potential of ICT and are dedicated to harnessing its power to uplift our communities.

As we look ahead, it's clear that the integration of ICT in primary schools is not a luxury but an imperative. It's a step towards creating an empowered generation that can leverage technology to break barriers, embrace opportunities, and reshape their own destinies. Let's come together to advocate for the inclusion of ICT in Uganda's primary school curriculum, ensuring that every child has the chance to embark on a journey of digital discovery and educational empowerment.

Isolation refers to the state of being alone, separated from others, or having limited social interactions.

A number of students have dropped out of school due to countless challenges and hindrances some of which are; insufficient funds to cater for their school fees/tuition, inadequate scholastic materials like text books, personal and essentials needs like pads for the females, among others. This lacking, is mostly brought about by poverty which has affected most of the families in Uganda hence having a number of humble families in the country and thereby creating a large number of school dropouts.

A goal is an aim or objective that you work toward with effort and determination. Everyone in life must have a goal because goals help us live the life we want. It is very dangerous for one not to have a goal in life, because life will always be for them an endless pursuit. As you pursue your goal, know that whatever you plan to do, there is someone who has ever done it. Do not be deceived that what you are planning to do is new. Know that someone has ever done it before.

I take this opportunity to congratulate all of our members who managed to succeed in the selection for the award of a bursary under our university bursary scholarship program. Thanks to you all and may our Lord the Almighty bless you and excel in your studies.

For millions of years, this planet has used trees to fight climate change. Life cannot exist without the presence of trees on the planet. The biggest problem faced by our planet today is climate change.

University Bursaries are always awarded by African Soul Initiative every intake thought the year. African Soul Initiative has been doing this ever since the initiation of this Program after the lifting of the COVID19 total lock down from the economy. These University Bursaries are awarded to the best O & A Level students from families which have financial difficulties within our community.

At the completion of the training, certificates are awarded to the trainees. Five programs are covered in depth: Microsoft Windows, MS Words, MS Access, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, Internet. A total of 62 participants enrolled for the training program, however only 22 participants managed to complete the whole package to receive their certification.
