Environment conservation through tree planting
Uganda is faced with a problem of unsustainable land use which greatly affects the environment. Deforestation is being practiced mainly for financial purposes in every corner of the country leaving a big part of the land bare. This has led to an increase in the percentage of carbon dioxide(CO2) and uncertainties in climate change.
There's a need to sensitive the young ones on the dangers of deforestation and the many benefits of planting trees. As the saying goes that 'train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.' The children being groomed in protecting the environment through tree planting, will always treasure that and keep planting more trees all their lives.
School children are being sensitized and trained in protecting the environment through tree planting not only in schools but also in their communities.
